After the Wednesday class project, I began to see the whole picture of what is expected of us with regards to the research essay. Although I still have some misgivings, resulting from fear of the unknown. I certainly have never written a research essay, so while it is fascinating, it is also scary. Thank goodness though that I was in class to experience the research project because this gave a whole lot of insight into what is exactly required.
My chosen research story is “Revelation”, the title was the catalyst to my choosing it. I was curious to find out what the revelation was, will be or is been inferred or referred to. And so, I read the story. It took until the end before I grasped what the ‘revelation’ was all about. Just like in the story, it takes some monumental or obscure occurence sometimes for each of us to realize how wrong or judgemental or off-track we are about someone, something or opinion. Mrs. Turpin had a rude awakening which jolted her out of her ‘sanctimonious’ outlook about people. It should be interesting to see what I can do with this story. Any views from anyone who has read this particular story will be welcomed by me.

Ruth, you are always one step ahead. I try to be too, but english is definitely my shortcoming. For this reason, I am starting my research paper early, that way I will have more than enough time to come up with some good ideas. It seems as though this writing comes natural to you. You have already come up with a paragraph already and I am still trying to develop an outline.
